Saurav Foundation Hosts District-Level Speech Competition on Say No to Drugs, Yes to Sports.

july 27, 2024 [Uttarkashi] The Saurav Foundation’s annual “Saurav Samman Karyakram” draws significant attention and participation from students and community leaders alike. Held at Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya on saturday, the event featured a district-level speech competition centered around the theme “Nashe Ko Na, Khel Ko Haan”, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and promoting healthier lifestyles.

The program was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Suresh Chauhan and Social Welfare Officer Sudhir Joshi. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and highlighted the community’s commitment to tackling substance abuse.

The competition saw an impressive turnout, with students from various schools across the district delivering powerful speeches on the impact of drug abuse and the benefits of engaging in sports and other positive activities. The speeches were evaluated by a panel of judges that included Atul Bhatt and Sourabh Rana.

In addition to the speeches, the students participated in a solemn oath-taking ceremony, pledging to say no to drugs and commit to a drug-free lifestyle. This symbolic gesture was a poignant moment in the program, reflecting the collective resolve of the youth to combat substance abuse.

The event also featured addresses by several other distinguished guests, including notable figures such as Radhesyaam Khanduri, Dr. Dwarika Prasad Nautiyal, Suresh Chandra Bhatt, Vijay Prakash Bhatt, Gaurav Bhatt, and Anuj BrahmaChari.

Their words of encouragement and support for the initiative further inspired the participants and underscored the community’s dedication to this cause.

Chief Guest Suresh Chauhan emphasized the critical role that education and awareness play in preventing drug addiction. “It is imperative for us to engage our youth in productive activities and provide them with the tools and knowledge to resist the temptations of substance abuse,” Chauhan stated.
